Content Filler: The iPad Apps I Wish Existed.

Some of these are entirely pipe-dreams, some of them are already in development. Here are a couple Apps I’d love to see on the iPad.

Facebook for iPad. The annoucment today of the update to the iPhone App, without adding any specific support for the iPad made me realize I want this. It’s not really a requirement so much as a luxury. The Facebook website (as are all websites) pretty easy to navigate on the iPad, even if their ‘Mobile‘ and ‘Touch‘ sites don’t. Ideally this would simply be for push notifications, and a cleaner easier navigation than the site itself. If you’re about to tell me to simply use the iPhone App 2x size, I’ll cut you, it looks like a Big Pile of Garbage on the iPad (as do most iPhone Apps double-sized.)

Global/CTV/Comedy Network on the iPad. I know this is entirely a dream, I might as well be asking for a Unicorn for Christmas, but the idea behind the ABC App is so, so great. This is one of the rare, rare times that I’m jealous of Americans (in addition to their iPhone 4 release date being in four days as opposed to Canadas… unknown days).

OR: A decent Rogers On Demand App. What they have out now, to put it mildly, is crap.
I’m not the only one who thinks so – as of writing this the App has had 791 Ratings, 649 of which are 1-star, on the App Store. Firstly, they don’t even have an iPad version. Secondly, you only get 2-3 minute clips of shows. Thirdly, there’s a monthly subscription of at least $5 to even use the App.
If they put an App out that offered the full range of ROD TV + Movies (and, ideally, Live TV – but beggars can’t be choosers), and didn’t require an additional subscription fee, this would make me seriously consider switching to Rogers Cable.

And while we’re on the topic, without going on a rant about how NetFlix should be in Canada (and all the Xbox & iPad integration therein), at the very least I wish for the following:

Zip.ca for iPad. As they don’t even have online viewing, I’m going to go ahead and consider this one pure fantasy as well.

A Heston Blumenthal App. I’ll settle for an iPhone App – but with the recent onslaught of British Celebrity Chefs making Apps, I can keep my fingers crossed that he’ll throw his liquid-nitrogen frozen spatula into the ring.

Side Note: Did you know that the Hold Music at his restaurant (The Fat Duck) is an Audio Book version of Alice in Wonderland? Now you do!
