Tips for Developers

22 April 2010 Author: ChantelleJoy View Comments & Reactions

Let me start off by saying, I am not an App Developer. I am simply an App enthusiast. And as such I want to do my part to support developers, making this site as robust and all-inclusive as possible.

So it’s safe to say that my advice should be taken with a grain of salt. In that vein I’ve collected some great links of Other People’s Advice, that I think Developers can benefit from. I hope someone finds this useful.

Obviously visiting the Official iPhone SDK Apple Forums is probably your first stop, but the iPhonedevsdk.com Forums are pretty popular too. Any forum will have sections where you can ask for help or get honest feedback. Most forums will have sections covering every aspect of development, from creation to promotion. Below are a few links to sites that I think you might find particularly useful, though:

Marketing Your iPhone App by iPhoneConnection.co.uk. Start to finish, a fantastic and detailed guide. A Must Read.

iPhoneApp Promo Dispenser – Get those codes to people who need them, or at least, people who are looking for them.

Your App’s Website Sucks – Tips on creating a good, and useful, App website.

Indie Apps Coalition – I support these guys. They have three rules;

1. We are a group of Independent iPhone Apps/Games developer who comes from all over the world.
2. We DO NOT create spam apps.
3. Our intentions are about selling good apps in App Store and take pride of our work.

If you have any to share, I’ve left the Comments open on this article, please go ahead:
